Because the Native Americans introduced popcorn to the pilgrims when they arrived to America, and I'm sure they had it at their First Thanksgiving.

You answered your own question, I give you 10 *'s....I've always included popcorn in my dinner plans for Thanksgiving. The kids as well as the adults enjoy nibbling on it. You can decorate a very impressive arrangement for your table by using colored popcorn balls mixed with nuts & fruits. You can include whatever you want in your Thanksgiving meal...I think the idea of having people you care about coming over and celebrating it with you is the main focus. Be creative and enjoy your day! Happy Bird Day!

Here's a great link to lots of popcorn holiday recipes, including a recipe for 'popcorn stuffing'. I mean really. Not the fake recipe joke about 'blowing the rear end off the turkey'. It actually sounds really good. I may try it myself sometime!

Popcorn is good. Wasn't it called maize at the first Thanksgiving?

Sure! You can have anything your heart desires. Just don't use un-popped corn to stuff the turkey (old joke). I think I would prefer to have the pop corn accompany a football game rather than as a side dish! LOL!! Have fun & enjoy your family!

I did this with my students. You can get dried cranberries and unsalted mixed nuts. Put them all together in a bowl. This is what the Pilgrims gave as treats to their children!

Maize is still the correct term for all forms of cob corn. Corn was originally the English term for any grain or seed. Somehow in America the word got transferred to sweet corn, pop corn and similar varieties.

You can make cute carmel (or chocolate) popcorn balls and tie it up in a holiday fashion.
Or have everyone watch a movie afterwords haha.

sure - you can even flavor it to match your dinner.... garlic, cayanne pepper, pesto, parmesan cheese.... you name it! pick a flavr that compliments -- or heck roll it out as a snack after with cinnamon & sugar!!

(seriously, did a wine pairing and all "food" as favored popcorn so as not to spoil the flavor & thus basterdize the pairing)
