They have only played two teams in the top 50, and they have no name recognition. Teams get ranked at the beginning because of name recognition. Everyone that has a vote in a poll that is used towards the BCS will vote for teams that have name recognition. Imagine a top 25 with teams like Hawaii, Boise St., Fresno St., BYU, and TCU. Wont happen because the teams have no national fan base, and outside of their geographic location they have no recognition on a national scale. Boise St. should be in the top 12, and if they win out top ten with a BCS berth over the winner of the ACC.

What you don't realize is their conference and their schedule. The BCS looks at the conference and the schedule. Yes, Bosie State is undeafeted but to unranked teams (San Jose State, Utah State, Hawaii, etc.) and the WAC is not the hardest conference to play in unlike the Big 10, Big 12, or PAC 10 which consists of much better ranked teams.

I think they should be #10 (actually, I thought they were) but I will say that there are two reasons why they aren't.
1-WAC is a weak conference, all offense really, and would be killed by mostly every other top team.
2-Strength of Schedule is weak, have they faced a ranked team as of yet?

10 reasons they're not in the top 10:
Sacramento State
Oregon State
Wyoming
Hawaii
Utah
Louisiana Tech
New Mexico State
Idaho
Fresno State
San Jose State
Add on top of that Utah State and Nevada.

They haven't played anyone......hopefully they will finish #12 or higher in the BCS rankings and get into a BCS bowl. Then they will have the chance to show how good they are......or aren't.

Simple. Pussy schedule and barely squeaking by SJSU last week pretty much put the kibosh on any chance they had.

The biggest reason is because their schedule is too easy.
