It's really disturbing and not at all funny. It's one thing to threaten like Bernie Mac does, but another to really do it. Homer crosses the line with this one and I think the writers are really off the mark?

Cheap laughs I guess. It's a cartoon for goodness sakes, there's a lot worse stuff out there. Also, note the fact the Homer J. Simpson has anger management problems, is a drunk, and Bart won't leave him alone.
Baby Bart : Mommy.
Marge : Aww, he said Mommy.
Homer : Now say Daddy, say Daddy Bart.
Baby Bart : Ho-ho-Homer. Homer!

Yes, well, the whole show is pretty depressing, if you take any part of it seriously. A few things that might help you put this in context:
Homer intentionally gained weight in order to collect disability.
Homer steals from Ned Flanders on a regular basis.
Bart worked for The Mob.
Bart consistently disregards all forms of authority.
Bart got a tattoo.
Maggie hit Homer in the head with a hammer.
Homer went fishing in the middle of a couple's retreat.
Bart pretended to be a boy who had fallen into a well.
Homer was caught driving drunk.
The town of Springfield has an annual "Snake Whacking Day".
Bart is on the No-Fly List.
On top of all that, you have to consider Itchy & Scratchy, as well as Krusty The Clown.
All in all, this is not a nice group of people. I hope you're not expecting that it's a kids show, 'cause it's entirely adult.

I don't think this would happen, as Lisa is too well behaved to cause trouble so bad to be strangled by Homer. Besides, i don't think that Homer would ever strangle Lisa, as they aren't that close as Bart is to Homer. And no, in my opinion, i wouldn't classify Lisa being strangled by Homer funny, as i think that would be just plain weird, a whole new twist in the Simpsons.

First of all why are you watching this trash? Second, you can't be a parent. Many a parent feels like strangling a kid at least once in there life time. Besides it's a stupid cartoon show which exaggerates life as we know it. Now if this was Snoopy being hurt I could sympathize.

for one it is just a cartoon 2 it helps make people feel like they are able to let out there anger by laughing at others problems
