There is a guy I like, but I think he is gay. I'm not sure. He may just be pretending but I can't tell for sure. I'm so confused.

The guy I like was acting gay around other guys, and today I saw him and he was like humping another guy or trying to ... but the confusing thing is he's hugged girls before and I saw him with a girl before and they were acting like a coulpl. But then today my friend askd him if he was gay, and he didn't say anything. Then later when he walkd past where I hang out at lunch, he kept staring at me? WHAT IS UP WITH HIM?!?!

my best friend in high school pretended to be gay for 4 years. i was naked in front of him, i kissed him on the lips, we massaged each other ( but nothing more) at graduation he told me that he was never gay and had a crush on me since freshman year! we are no longer friends.

I agree with other people- why would he pretend to be gay? That's just odd. The only reason I can think would be to ward off unwanted female advances, in which case, if he's acting gay with you, should give you a sign that it doesn't matter if he's straight anyways.
Maybe some details would help.

Just remember one thing - sexuality is a fluid thing in the sense that it goes beyond the restrictions we impose on it by saying someone is 'gay' 'straight' and the connotations/meanings those descriptions can have for some people. If he is a good friend then just enjoy life with him, don't pressurise him into telling you about his feelings. if you are worried about him think hard before trying to confront him, as you might not be thanked by him, certainly in the short term.

Miranda, guys don't pretend to be gay. Never.
BUT your friend might not be gay or he may not know he is gay yet. Be his friend and wait for him to tell you if he is gay (if he is).
If you ask him if he is gay, and he isnt or not ready to admit it, he might be hurt or mad at you. You might lose him as a friend regardless of what he is.
Be his friend, he'll tell you in due time if there is anything he wants to share with you.

First, has he ever claimed to be gay? If you are deciding he's gay without discussing it with him, he isn't pretending anything, he's just being himself, don't blame him for your assumptions. Second, in this society why would anyone pretend that?

How sad. It's like my friend said, "Why do all the hot guys have to be gay?" Well, I guess you can just really tell if he's gay, like if he's looking at other boys or stuff like that. You'll just know.
