I am sending gifts to my husband's family in Morocco. Mail typically takes three weeks by airmail (the cheapest way).

Last year, during the holidays, I sent a box the first week of December and they didn't get it until the beginning of January. I was not happy but I should have realized that there would be many packages going and did not allow for "hidden" postal delays. This year, I'm sending my stuff by the 18th.

The link below provides information from the postal service and prices on delivery. Check with your local post office and see if they provide global priority (cheaper than global express) to see if they ship to the area you are shipping your package. I was at the post office and found out there was no global priority, which would have gotten it there just a few days shy of global express and quicker than air mail.

Good luck.

when i was shipping from here to Iraq it would take about 3 weeks when i sent priority. i would recommend sending sometime next week at the latest due to the influx of packages. make sure it's cleary labeled and the US Postal's Priority is great! if there is anything that could get damaged if it's wet i recommend putting it into a ziploc bag. i do that with pictures, clothes and anything that is liquid. while i've never had any problems - i'm of the ilk - better safe then sorry.

Call your post office to get the dates for shipping. Almost anything can be shipped now days, so it would depend on the person you are sending the gift to.

Yes, mail now. If you are mailing to a service member, use the flat rate boxes, their less expensive. Dont forget customs forms.
