The US Attorney office is flying me to another state to testify in front of a grand jury regarding a case what can I expect?

I am not a defendant but more someone who knows about the defendant of the case

You'll be asked questions and be expected to answer them as truthfully and completely as you can...There shouldn't be opposing counsel trying to trip you up...I believe you can have your own lawyer present to protect yourself from screwing yourself over...You can probably be expected to be told, to not talk about your testimony...Then you may expect a subpoena to testify during the trial.

Dress in appropriate business-y attire and be prepared to tell the truth. Do you have an attorney? Depending upon the matter that you're testifying about you may want to get yourself legal representation. This is a grand jury and the rules are different than with a petit jury. You will be questioned by the federal prosecutor, and possibly asked additional questions by the jury members. Generally, the grand jury does not allow cross-examination by the defendant.

So, just relax, tell the truth, and you should be fine.
