Yule, good ol' Yule. Falls on the Winter Solstice, and is usually celebrated on the Solstice day, or December 21st.

It is similar to Christmas... as Christmas was completely ripped off of Yule.

Entertaining my in-laws. Helping my little niece from Texas build a tiny snowman. Wiping my baby's neck each hour being sure it doesn't smell sour like old milk. Singing carols. Cooking around the clock. Calling my family back home. Last minute gift card buying. Watching my favorite TV shows and holiday movies. Having a glass of merlot. Just one. Taking and emailing photos. Calling my Mom, telling her to go home from the mall and stop spending all her money on her grandkids for Chri....YULE...heck, its all Christmas to me! Downloading some choice tunes on Napster. Drinking eggnog. Hugging everyone I can.

My husband and I celebrate by decorating the house with fresh cut pine and holly. We make decorations and then go hiking until we find a tree we like and decorate it with edible treats for the animals. We always burn a fire with the Yule log from the year before and eat dinner then do spell work.

December 21 also happens to be the 7th day of Hanukkah, so I imagine I'll be lighting a candle on my menorah :-) We all bring light in our own way!

Merry Yule!
