I saw Lebanon! Is that even in the middle east?

I know two people from Israel who I thought were white when I first met them. One has light brown hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. The other has blonde hair, medium pale skin, and green eyes. I didn't even believe they were from the middle east at first but that just shows how ignorant I am. =)

Israel has a great many fair-skinned people, as many Jews are from European stock whose parents or grandparents survived WWII. I don't know about being "mistaken" for white - if their skin is pale, I guess they're "white" - rather than being "mistaken."
