Get a copy of the company dress code, highlight the section on grooming/aromatics/odors/cleanliness and leave it on his desk.

Or, email your boss/supervisor confidentially and express your concern and ask what his or her advice on what should be done. If the smell is that bad, your boss probably already knows, or can easily find out. What will probably happen is Mr. Stinky will be invited to a one-on-one with the boss with the dress/grooming code as topic of conversation.

If these ideas do not work, you can ask to be moved to a different office/cubicle/work area, citing health reasons.

Go to him and speak with him directly about the problem. I have encountered this myself in the past, and the only way is to speak calmly and kindle to the person. It has always been appreciated because the offender had no idea things were so bad and were affecting others. Don't be afraid. I know it is a sensitive topic, but hinting at it by leaving anonymously a bottle of deodorant or a bar of soap just will not work. Good luck.

Chow!!

I have come to realize that the key to an enjoyable life is to confront problems in a frank way. Say, "dude, did you take a shower this morning and change your clothes? You stink". If he come in the next day like that again say "Your stench is offending me, if you don't correct it, I'm going to have to take further action". If it continues, demand that he be moved far enough away so that you are in a working environmnent that is not making you sick.

Confront the guy nicely and tell him that your work environment is seriously in danger and if he doesn't get his s**t together you will bring it up with the supervisor.
