The motorcycle was invented by a couple of guys hang'n out drink'n and smoke'n. After they got laid they said to one another"What now?, life is still not complete." They came up with they idea of the motorcycle. The motorcycle was invented for many reasons the most important being to Raise Hell, have fun and get to the next bar w/o having to walk so far. There have been absolutely no negative effects on society, quite the contrary, They have conserved fuel, lessened congestion on the roadways, gotten many an overweight graying biker dude laid and brought joy to many who might otherwise be grouchy. So there you have it motorcycles are truly an asset to society as a whole.

It was invented for FUN and if all of society rode motorcycles the world would be filled with happy relaxed people except for the stupid ones who got killed. So the gene pool would be improved at the same time. And we would not have the need for as much gasoline so no wars and cleaner air. That's good for society too. No negatives at all, girlie.

Two wheeled ones were invented in the late 1800's. The first "motorized" vehicle was a 3 wheel steam powered model in the 1700's invented by a Frenchman Cugnot I think might be the name? As previously mentioned what we think of as motorcycles were simply motorized bicycles in earliest form. First Harley's were like this as well such as the "Grey Ghost" models that made Harley famous with single cylinder and belt drive.

the motorcycle was invented for the same reason the car was. To get from point a to point b. I'm not sure if you consider less polution, less traffic congestion, less wear and tear on road surfaces, and actually enjoying a commute to work as negative effects, but if you do then there you go.

You are all Wrong! The first two wheeled vehicle was the Daimler Einspur and it was made simply as a means to test Daimler's new internal combustion engine.
As for negative impact on society, you could say accidents, pollution, time away from girlfriends, but a lot less than cars do!!

It was invented for the same reason as your hair drier there was a demand to be supplied for . The negative effect it has on society is
Giving insurance company's another excuse to rip us off
Giving dumb people a reason to ask questions like this
Creating jealousy among people who can never ever ride them
Giving jealous people a reason to bash them ect
positive effects
less traffic
more parking spaces
less pollution
less cost
less Rubber tire to dispose of
And the vibration makes my old lady horny which is a direct benefit to me so f off..

the military had motorcycles in ww2 after the war many gi's bought them as they were cheap and they liked them. i haven't really seen any negative effects on society because of them, except the biker groups of the past, but the bikes weren't really to blame.

the 'motorcycle' was an advancement of the already familiar bicycle... adding the (hopefully obvious) advantages of mechanization... the only 'negative' that comes to mind is, possibly, the 'negative' impacts of mechanization... although the thought of well over 3 billion people riding horses is not very pretty either.
