I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am, I like my car. I can smell radiator overheating coming from the engine but its not overheating. There's a noise coming from my front left tire, like its flat, there's no buldge on the tire. when i drive real slow like under 20, i feel like the tire is dragging and can hear the flat sound. when i turn left i can hear a noise coming from the that side of the car a metal sound. not really grinding, or crunching. I just had brakes new struts and ball bearing but its still doing it. anyone know what this is? i had a accident on that front corner panel about 2 years ago, could something be broken. And anyone know a good machanic in Toledo area? someone that wont rip me off, and I dont have to make an appointment 3 weeks in advance.

I am not sure what the noise is that you describe.

You don't tell what engine you have in your vehicle, but I will take a stab and guess that it is either a 3.1 or a 2.8. As far as the coolant smell, take a flash light and look under the power steering pump on the engine. Also, take a look at the same location on the opposite end of the engine. If it is wet at either location, chances are pretty good that you have a lower intake gasket leak. If it is leaking, it will cost approx $700 to replace as the upper part of the engine will have to be taken off to access the gasket. If you do not replace it, there is a chance that coolant can get into the combustion chambers and hydro lock. When this happens, all sorts of bad things can happen. We are talking about possibly having to replace your engine. I would definitely get this thing to a mechanic before too long.

that different V-6 engine has were given a plastic intake manifold. it is fashionable for warping. in case you'll serach on the information superhighway, you'll discover varoious provider bulletins in this. that's likely leaking back through the #6 cylinder, between the engine and the firewall, in an section the position you may't see the leak. The leak is sufficiently small so as that the coolant evaporates. the reason of the leak is the dexcool coolant, which incorporates a similar polymar structure because the seals on the intake manifold gasket. even as the anti-freeze starts to break down, the coolant assaults the seals. that is once you commence smelling anti-freeze. the answer's to take the great 1/2 of the engine aside and it would nicely be a competent theory to also replace the water pump right now. it would probable fee $1200. replacing a thermostat will not fix some thing. the reason the mild went out is because they reset the engine verify engine code. there's a moderate probability that theydidn't connect the radiator hose to the thermostat properly. Run your finger around the radiator hose on the thermostat even as the engine continues to be warmth and rigidity continues to be on the coolant device. in case you discover any moisture in any respect, take it back to the broker and tell them your finger replaced into moist. in the journey that they say they could't reproduce your outcomes, provide to bypass in and educate their chief mechanic a thanks to do it. which could get some action .
