An actual home movie exists of Ruth's at bat, I've never seen the film itself, but it was shown on an HBO special a few years ago. Apparently, it is inconclusive whether Ruth was pointing to the bleachers or pointing to the pitcher to indicate the count.

Later, another home movie surfaced, and this was shown on an ESPN special (I never heard of ESPN showing this film...which is not to say they didn't) This film was taken by a spectator who was attending his first and only major league baseball game... He picked a good day to go the the ballpark!

Wikipedia has an article about the called shot, and includes a still from the 16 mm film that was taken from behind home plate, off to the third base side a little bit.

In the photo, Ruth is clearly shown gesturing, but it's anyone's guess as to what was being said on the field.

What's sometimes forgotten about that game is that both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig actually hit TWO home runs apiece. Gehrig, in fact, followed Ruth's called shot with a home run of his own.

The Yankees swept the series in 4 straight, and it was to be Babe Ruth's last World Series Championship.

Yes, look up George 'Babe" Ruth on Google/Yahoo search. It was in Chicago against The Cubs and was a news photo.

There's a rather grainy, inconclusive photo that you can find if you scroll down this page:

I'm still not sure, personally, about whether or not he called the home run. Either way, it's a pretty cool story.
