I consider myself serious and honest person on this forum. This is why I came to Yahoo Answers. At 1st it was fun, then I started to see that too many people use Y&A as a platform to be mean to other people and they actually think that they are being funny.
I don't mind the religious people and their posts because a lot of them are actually pretty respectful here. The only group I have a problem here are the racists, or people who are unhappy with their own races use the Yahoo Q&A forum as a platform to disrespect their own race.
Some racists get on here and actually ask what I consider a good question, but most get on here just to stir things up.
I have found that there are also people who asked certain questions without giving an explanation and when you try to answer the question you are reported. That's their game. To set people up to be reported. Pretty sick if you ask me.
There are also those people on here who have multiple accounts. They are here to seriously stuir things up by asking a whole load of VERY stupid questions.
This is not a chat forum this is a Question and Answer forum. I also suspect that the Yahoo staff doesnt even monitor their own forum here because I've seen questions posted here that does not belong at all on a family-oriented forum.
Many of the trouble makers here are wrecking a good thing.

It's a way to pass the time, and possibly help somebody in the process. I work at an assisted living facility, and to do that kind of work you have to be a person that likes to help others.
I try not to answer a question unless I have some knowledge in the field. I very rarely make fun of a question unless it looks like it's there for that purpose.
As far as being non-conformist, that's me. Look at my avatar. I ride that puppy just about every day, and I don't own a car. What I don't understand is what the non-conform part of the question means?
Yes, some people here are angry. They have a holier than thou attitude. I have not noticed that is was a major problem. I live in Florida, and ignore mosquitos and other small pests.
I'm proud of my best answer ratio. I can look at that number and say: "Yes! I have helped someone today". And that's the point of this site. Eventually people will ignore the ones that don't contribute, and the site will be better for it.
I like to think I can help from wherever I'm at. If I can help from my home on the computer in my spare time, that honestly makes me happy.
Have a good day. Ciao!

I actually enjoy this forum and enjoy reading some of the questions, as they actually are intriguing and make you "think." As someone mentioned, it does get tiring to read some more asinine queries that people post because they are bored or they need attention. I just ignore those. If I can provide insight, I'm happy to on most of them and if I research it, I always end up learning something new - that's the fun part of this! The other part is getting reactions of the sincere people on really interesting topics that you've wondered about and you can get a consensus from others - its so very interesting and thought provoking.

I'm a noncomformist by birth AND experience (heck, can make a _feline_ look like a 'yes-man' in comparison!), so don't know about the last part of your statement.
But I do try and ask/answer questions in C/S in a *reasonably* civil fashion, and in a way that shares information or ideas. Wish there was less "clutter" on the board (stuff having no relevance to C/S), and wish there were a LOT fewer bigots of all types & trolls....

Think of the Yahoo site as you would any other "town" "workplace" or community and you will see that you have the same mix of people who work together to make something work well and for the purposes intended and you will see those in the community who abuse, destroy or lack the intelligence to make a meaningful contribution. Then you get the sincere people who make the effort regardless of the value of their response. Occasionally, you get exceptionally good answers that reflect experienced and wise individuals who choose to share their knowledge or life experience with others.

I really like this Y&A. I am helping people and learning things that I wouldn't have thought about otherwise. I am also finding out that I am not so different after all, there are other people like me and it is refreshing.
I am disappointed by some of the answers that I have seen people leaving about serious questions. I wish they just wouldn't answer at all but you will always have that..I guess.

This is a slow time at work for me, so I enjoy reading the questions and trying to answer them.....I would like to think I am helping people out with my answers, so I try to be serious and informative. I have always been out spoken but never try to intentionally hurt anyone's feelings.

About 50% of the time I am sarcastic and full of sh!t, 40% of the time I am sincerely answering honestly and trying to help, and 10% of the time I am purely guessing. BUT 60% of the time it works every time!

Yes, I am. I enjoy answering questions and occasionally I need answers to questions myself. But it is disheartening when others don't take it seriously and use it to vent hatred or pose silly questions in categories where they don't even belong.

I'd like to be serious, but it gets increasingly difficult with the mentality of these people on here. Sooner or later you have to say if you can't beat them, join them. - guess thats not what you really wanted to hear - sorry :(
Ive just posted this question myself.
