SoSanFran is near where the Airport is located. Are you making an airport run? 20 minutes no traffic (using local route knowledge) but if rush-hour could be as bad as an hour each way. Getting the crab is easy as you can pull-up right to the curb, jump out and get one from the vendors outside the restaurants. Eat it in the cab, make the driver happy. 2.5 hours round-trip worst case.

Don't drive. Take BART to Market Street and catch the F streetcar line. Then, you don't have to fight the traffic on the 101 or 280 or 19th Ave., and you don't have to find a parking place at the Wharf. Then, time is your friend. Also, from there, you can go anywhere in the City!

sweetie, go park at the airport and take the BART into the city.
Why would you want to go back to South San Francisco anyways?

take 101 to 280 like your going to att park. take the embarcadero to the wharf. it takes 20min. parking is your major concern. however long it takes you to eat and then come home...
40min driving+15 min. to park+eating time...
(by the way a good restaurant on the way there is Delancey Restaurant, 600 embarcadero)

It shouldn't be more than 30 min...that is if you don't take off during rush hour. It's the parking that'll take up your time!
