Suddenly, without warning and quickly- according to a predestined event. Lightning would be good.

Potentially fatal hazards I've tried include near-drowning (horrible) and electrocution (not unpleasant).

A spiritual master of Hinduism of Buddhism sometimes attempt to attain controlled death (NOT suicide) according to their belief. After a period of ascetism (deprivation to renounce material existence) where the master communes between the Paramatma (spirit soul) and Krishna or Buddha the ascendant's spirit departs the body- without suffering or disease.

This is done according to the will of Krishna or with his assent- whereas a suicide is against his wishes. This is probably a good way too- but you would have to renounce your physical existence for many years before hand. Such perfection is better left for purer souls.

When me and my best friend are old and decrepit and life's not fun anymore we want to shoot heroin and jump out of a plane. Not only would it be an awesome way to die, I'd so make it into the news.

I would want to know the day of my death in advance-and still be totally healthy to enjoy my final days and spend my final money and then I would want to walk into the woods and lay down or sit like the buddha, on the grass, under a tree and simply float away from this body...in quiet peace

I would prefer it if an angel came down, asked permission, and then calmly escorted me into whatever Heaven may be just before the sun was scheduled to go supernova.

I think I would like to die in my sleep. Just peacefully slip away.
