This is going to sound a little weird, but I don't think there IS such a thing as virginity.

Think about it - is there some kind of test you can do to tell if someone is a virgin or not? Certainly not for men. And if you know much about female anatomy, you'll realize that not every woman keeps an intact hymen through her youth (it can tear from physical activity) and not every women loses it from sex (some even need it to be surgically cut away). So there is really no way to tell if someone is a virgin or not.

And then you get into the whole vaguarities of the issue. Does a person who loses their memory of ever having sex re-gain their virginity? What about a person who gains new sexual organs that have never had sex? If 'virginity' cannot be isolated in the mind or in the body, where is it?

I submit that it is nowhere. Because there is no such thing.

It is not hard to find groups of people who have a vested interest in causing people to believe that the quality of virginity exists. With this concept, they can control people's behaviour - make them feel guilty, or righteous, or obligated, or increase their participation in various rites and activities. They have either woven together this myth (like that of the unicorn) and strengthened it to the point where few doubt its existance (unlike the unicorn). But I refuse to allow them to win.

Fight the power! Deny virginity! Thank you.

Maybe it's not a good start. But I don't think you need to feel guilty for the loss of virginity.

If somebody is too young to be ready for the big change after IT, it's bad. If you are ready, just feel good.

I lost it at 16. Legal, but young (I think so now anyway.)
However, I was in a loving relationship, and it was wonderful for me. I think that, past about 15/16, the important thing is the emotions you feel for the person you sleep with. If you care for/love them, you'll feel good, if you don't, you may feel guilty. Or if they don't.

I think you feel both - guilty for not waiting, but good because of the physical sensation and also the independence of making your own decision, even if it goes against society's mores.

Feeling guilty serves no purpose but to make you feel bad.
Give up the guilt. Feel what you enjoy feeling.

losing your virginity is a special thing and should be taken seriously in a happy relationship, and not casually. It is worth waiting until you meet the right one, whats the hurry.
