I am having a LEEP procedure done and I have read all that I can about what to expect, except on how much it costs! Does anyone know how much this procedure costs? My insurance covers part of it, but not much, and I just want to know how much to expect. Thank you!!

just had it done, still don't know the cost, but it hurt like CRAZY!!! not the procedure itself, but the 6-7 shots of anesticia to numb it did!! i was crying, and almost ripped a hole in the table with my fingernails!!! so don't let them ever say, "it's going to be a little uncomfortable," (that's what they said to me.)

It depends on if you are having it done in a hospital or a doctor office. Its cheaper at a doc office. My sister had it done and it was 800 in her doctors office.

I found this online:
Patient cost for LEEP in the office is $700 compared to $1450 in the hospital. Nine LEEP procedures per year provides a break-even point for the clinic

Yes, I had the LEEP. I was afraid too, but only good resulted from it. My doctors(2, one learning the procedure, one teaching) and his nurse held my hand and explained everything. It must be done to stop the dysplasia. They told me that it may come back and each time it is deeper. Not a good thought but I guess if I keep tabs on the condition with yearly Pap exams it can be managed. HPV-hopefully young women can get the vaccine and prevent this unpleasant disease that so many women have now. Men have it too but dont have a cervix so they just spread it, dont have dysplasia. Grit your teeth and ask for someone very supportive to be with you.

That varies on hospital to hospital. You could call and ask them how much it may run but I doubt you'll get any answers. Prices will have many different ranges, say if there is a complication (which I'm not saying there will be), or if you need medications or other unexpected things. Hope this helps.
