LET ME FIRST STATE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO BE OFFENSIVE TO THOSE FROM OTHER PLACES OR RACES!!!

When you call tech support, and someone answers that is clearly not well-versed in English, and so you have trouble understanding them to begin with. Then, as the conversation progresses, you realize that they also have no idea what they are talking about, due to the fact that they keep putting you on hold to either "consult the book" or ask someone else what to do. Then, after several minutes of this, they tell you that they are sorry, but they can't help you, and then proceed to HANG UP ON YOU?

What the hell??????????

Yes this annoys me beyond all reason. It is due to the fact of large corporations hiring out tele-operators who live in other countries and really have no background of what the company provides. It's the corporations way of being cheap and stickin it to the consumer and never providing us with any real customer service, yet ripping us off with the crap they provide us.

yes it does. The reason they do this is becasue it is cheaper for them to outsource a call center to other country's such ans India. I totally know what you mean and I just wish I could talk to someone who actually understood me and I understood them. Here are just a few reasons why they outsource...By outsourcing, they can:

Reduce Cost
Reduce overheads, free up resources
Avoid capital expenditure
Improve efficiency (i disagree with this)
Save on manpower and training costs
Reduce operating costs
Improve speed and service
Establish long-term, strategic relationships with world-class service providers to gain a competitive edge/li>
Spread your risks
Provide value-added services
Avoid the cost of chasing technology

I HATE IT!!

10 thumbs up. I hate that. If you are going to be a customer service rep. you need to have knowledge of all aspects of that company or product and being able to speak and understand clear english would be a big help. I agree with you 1001%.

It's not just tech support, it's everything! Banks, telephone enquiries, rail enquiries, they're all using cheap labour in far away countries and either you cannot understand their accent, or they can't understand you, making sensible communication immpossible!

It has never happened to me because I don't call tech service! I don't like calling tech service... It takes so much time... I usually just end up fixing the problem myself... :-)
