If you posted it registered then on your reciept there should be a track n trace number, just enter it into the royal mails website and there should be a list of places where it's been tracked to. If you didn't post it that way and you've no proof of postage you've no chance i'm afraid.

Ask the Post Office to stop being belligerent and put a trace on the parcel. Once you handed it in it is their responsibility to look after it. If they say you have to prove it went missing in the UK ask them how they can prove it didn't. If the tracer is successful and they can prove it landed in the Netherlands then, quite rightly, they have lost control. Ask them how you claim from the Dutch. Ask them to explain their complaints procedure and request a complaint form. Ask for the names of all the people you have spoken to and tell them that they will be featured in the complaint. Write to your M P and tell him/her the circumstances and ask for help.

You cant tell unless it was registered. Even recorded packages go in with the normal mail and offer no further security for your package.
Hate to tell you this but the only was to ensure full compensation and total security is to send it Special Delivery. This way all destination countries use their premium services for it.

Unless you had recorded or any proof you handed it over, you will get no where - but yes next time GET PROOF - that way they ahve to pay some compensation if they cant prove it was delivered - it is worth registered if it is of any value

You should only send valuable goods via RM Special Delivery as its full tracked, or TNT or parcel force if its a big item :O)

Without tracking on the parcel alas there is no way.
When sending abroad you ned tracking and insurance, if not I am afraid they will not help you in anyway.
