What are the challenges of being a financial planner?

I am researching Financial Planning as a career, and wanted to hear from some planners about the most common challenges they face. Any information would be great!

I tried to sell Life insurance. The only problem with these type of "commission" salaries are that you have to find your own client base. If you work for a firm that does this already, then you wouldn't have to worry. Also there is an honesty issue. There are a lot of "sh*theads" who work in the industry and put their own need in front of the clients. Just get your certifications, Life & Health, Series 6,63 and find a good mentor.
