I got custody of my 7 year old son in March 2006. My wife and I were given custody because my son's mother had been involved with drugs and had our son in the presence of numerous sex offenders. I lost my job and I found a job driving truck, but I will only be home every other weekend. I was wondering if anyone knows if this could effect my wife and I keeping custody of my son. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

No since you are married, you have suitable care for your son while youre away. If questions come up tell the court its only temporary til you find another job. Not alie as no job is permanent. But I see no problem here.

It shouldn't, if your ex doesn't like it, tell her to suck an egg. I know guys who have taken their children out on the road with them and home school them. You shouldn't have a problem. You offer your child a stable home and you are financially responsible, so that's all that really matters. Instead of asking here though, you should seek the advise of an atty. They offer free 1st time consultations. They would be in a better position to advise you of your rights and alternatives that you could explore. Good luck!

I know a lot of drivers in your situation.... with your wife there and you away due to your job.... she doesn't have a chance. She would have to show neglect or abandonment on your part. Considering her past and the reason you gained custody, I wouldn't worry.

It depends on the judge, some are extremely sexist like judge robinson in Tennessee. it probably won't though. Try to enjoy the time you have w/ your son.

As long as your wife is there and he has full time supervision, it shouldn't affect it.
