Just when you think you've heard the daftest thing of all, up pop our Government and delivers this!. Why the hell is taxpayers money being used to compensate a bunch of morons who, in reality, ought to go down on bended knee and thank society for ridding them of their UNLAWFUL habit. They are scum, and, if there is any compensation to be paid, isn't it they who should be compensating their victims?. How can they say their human rights were violated?... you have to be human for the act to come into effect.. and they're anything but that. For God's sake... POLITICIANS..... LISTEN. We are crying out for a party that will GOVERN fairly, squarely and sensibly - according to the will of the people. Be WARNED, we - the people - are sick and tired of Europe, sick and tired of helping the lawbreakers - whilst neglecting the victims - and absolutely pissed off with your namby pamby Political correctness. What about Society correctness?. Get your bloody act together.

as a lot as hate that society provides a pat on the back to junkies which have stop their drug of selection and do not supply them to the folk who do not commence in any respect. i need to admit that see you later as they have the coaching and are thoroughly loose from drugs or alcohol then they'll be the perfect individual to inform someone the ills of their techniques through journey. no individual that has a subject matter needs someone who would not understand how there feeling tell them why they could stop. So i wager see you later as they have performed the artwork to get there sure they could get the nicely paying counselor interest.

Or how about they are made to pay that compensation directly to the individuals who were victims of their crimes - or is that too sensible and fair for these human rights morons?

If this doesn't make the government wake up and realise that there is something seriously wrong and dangerous with the current system in the Uk then I don't know what will.

Yeah, But there are some times the case when people are innocent... So here is what we do.. Anyone that is convicted of a crime more then two times should be put on an Island and given nothing... This island will be shark infested waters.. along with a US Coast Guard ship monitoring just in case if they have someone try to come and get them.

Whatever happens on this island is no longer America's concern.

The world has definitely gone mad, how about injecting all the drugs they think we owe them in one go, that way they can have one big high, and then we'd be rid of them forever.

I as a taxpayer would be more than happy to pay towards this cause.

Whats next suing us because they can't have their favourite jeans to wear or their mickey mouse socks...,,,

if there is such a serious issue with there health, then it should be addressed ( i can't see the problem with making 'em come of the skag myself) .Under no circumstances should they come away from the issue with money in there pockets.Aswell as the costs of keeping them inside-- Who paid for there legal team to take on the home office??? the same people........i have found it depressing, doesn't even make me angry any more.Such news has become normal.

(power zen -- if it makes you feel less worse it was 750,000 between a group of them[ @3 to 4,000 each])

I would gladly pay more tax to give them a lethal injection because they are such a nuisance and drag on normal society
it might help go towards some of the crime rate we have in this country

i agree totally with you matey. these people scum off the benefits system to pay for an addiction they got themselves into and then to tip the iceberg they use the nhs funds to cover there addiction on methadone.

WHY!!!!!!!!!!!

these people deserve to rot in prison and mr. prime minister needs to stop giving benefits to those who abuse it and give it to genuinely ill people. i hate scumbags like these. it just goes to show what a state this country has got into. human rights for a druggy pfft. ill give them the right to go hang themselves.

Tax hogging S'O'B's cold turkey is what they deserve let them feel what it feels like when you ruin your life.

NO WAY!!! If you ask me, they were done a favour, i mean, at least their off drugs now!
And you know what's just as bad?
Tax payers having to pay MPs obscenely large amounts of money, just so they can squander it on ridiculous things!
Something should be done about that!!!

You couldn't make it up.

What about the alcoholics denied their booze, or the gamblers denied their bets on the horses?

Or the the sex offenders, addicted to pornography?

This government has surely now entered a phase of utter lunacy.
