Halo 3 and Halowars are both exclusive to the Xbox 360 right now.
Later, they might end up on PC..

Halo 3 is an "FPS" game which stands for "First-Person Shooter". That means you take-on the persona of the main character, and run around with the end of your gun visible, as though you're seeing through the actual eyes of the character you play.

Halowars is an "RTS" game which stands for "Real-Time Strategy" game. That means you basically command troops and resources on a a map. Just so you know, Halo 1 was originally going to be an RTS when it was released but they decided to chage it to an "FPS". Personally, I think it's gonna be cool.

Halo 2 for Xbox is going to have a few extra multiplayer maps released in Spring of next year, for Xbox 360 only. Supposedly it'll be over Xbox LIVE, and will cost a little bit of money to download.

Halo 2 for PC is being called "Halo vista" because it's being released for the new operating system called "Windows Vista". Some machines may be upgraded to use Windows Vista, but to be on the safe side, be sure to check out the system requirements here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/capable.mspx

Most new computer systems will begin shipping with Windows Vista already installed in January or February. It's designed to replace Windows XP.

Halo 3 is also releasing a Beta Multiplayer Demo early next year as well, also for the Xbox 360. It was just announced on their site yesterday. I think it's going to be released through Xbox LIVE, but that's just a guess.

As for what Halo 3's about, it's about alien forces (covenant) killing off humans left and right, cornering them on Earth, with only the MasterChief (your character) there to stop them. Meanwhile, another alien menace, the flood, which was discovered in Halo 1, is also invading bodies of both species in a sort of zombie epidemic.

Devices capable of stopping the flood, were made by a long-forgotten race of beings called "Forerunners". The devices are Ring-world space stations with full ecosystems on them, with a secret discovered in Halo 1. Yes, they can stop the flood, but when activated, they don't DESTROY flood, they destroy all lifeforms capable of being infected by the flood.

The humans know this and are trying to prevent their activation, but as learned in Halo 2, the covenant forces beleive that triggering the Halo rings will lead to a religeous experience called "The Great Journey".

Now, another forerunner artifact has been found that's capable of triggering all of the rings at one time. It's called the ark, and it's buried on Earth. Most of the covenant forces want to destroy the humans and trigger the rings, but a smaller group know the terrible secret of the rings, and are trying to help the humans.

Meanwhile, an artificial intelligence construct, known as Cortana, who actually rode with your character throughout Halo 1, and Halo 2, was abandoned on a Halo ring at the end of part 2. She's been talking with "gravemind" which is head of the flood. In the halo3 trailer, she appears as a transmitted hologram, and seems to be rampant.. (rampant = insane.. where she's got too much info in her head and is incapable of dealing with it all) I suspect this means that the flood are on their way.

Will the rings be triggered, destroying everyone and stopping the flood, or will the rings be stopped, and the flood be unstoppable? Either way.. humankind is in deep doo doo.

The tagline of Halo 3:
"and, this is how the world ends..."

Halo 3 is the continuation of the story arc that started with Halo: Combat Evolved. Halo 2 being the second in the series and Halo 3 will be the follow-up. Halo Wars on the other hand is an rts (real-time strategy game) just like age of empires but obviously with Halo themed units and stuff. I don't get why you said it will suck because if you played Battle for Middle Earth 2 (it is on the Xbox 360 and is an rts) and that game was sweet. Also Bungie played parts of Halo Wars and said that it is excellent so you should trust them. The only other Halo game for PC will be Halo 2 Vista but that will only be for Windows Vista.

Halo 3 will be for the box 360 and it will be a sequence of the previous halo games. It is a 1st person shooter. Halo Wars is like a command and conquer game like you said. It will focus more as a strategy game (Not saying Halo 3 isn't). I'm not sure if it will be on both PC and box 360. If i were you, Halo Wars is a waste of time. That is the difference.

Halo wars is a real time strategy (rts) meaning that you will most likely play it like Age of Empires espessialy since its from the same game developer.it is only for the xbox 360

Halo 3 is another addition to the Halo series so you will play it like Halo 1 and 2 i expect

Halo 2 is coming to the PC and probably 2 years after Halo 3 releases it will come out on the PC. Halo Wars is supossed to be something new and original, but compared to Comand & Conquer.
