I saved my husband at the dinner table and my daughter at 9yrs.
One friend at the lake, I was not feeling anything during the actions but afterwards it was a sense of "oh my gosh they could of died right there" if you know what I mean. I felt panic inside just after the deed and mortal relief later on

I once meet a girl who was about to suicide ,she had no place to stay and no job.. I let her stay at my place for as long as she needed ,I helped her to find a job ,after a month she was on her own. I am not sure if I did save her life but she thank me for my help, that made me feel really good . She is now doing really well, got married and very happy.

My oldest daughter, when she was two. She started choking on a piece of food while sitting in her high chair.I stood behind her and began to lift her out, planning to do the child version of the Heimlich on her.
As I lifted her up, her legs caught on the chair and this pressed her abdomen up against the deck of the high chair. This was enough to pop the food out of her trachea. She began crying, but it was the sweetest sound I could imagine after seeing her unable to get air in or out of her throat.
I was so sick from feeling how close she'd come to death that I never felt the rush you'd expect to feel after saving somebody's life.

15 years as an EMT, came across many car wrecks and medical situations... we're located 100 miles from tertiary care, so the golden hour was a long way off....some people made and others didn't. The ones that made it were extremely grateful, but i still think of the ones too far gone, nobody could help them.

As a lifeguard, I had the experience twice, pulling people in from the ocean. It was a very meaningful event which seemed to give purpose to my life. Much later, as a Christian believer, I had the same opportunity, but in a spiritual sense. The meaning was greatly magnified.

I have been the instrument used by God to save many.
But I have saved no one through my own power or doing.

as quickly as as quickly as I fell asleep using homestead, I ran off the line and went at as quickly as between this huge o.ok.tree and a rural mailbox, purely knocking my area mirror off. If I had hit the tree, i could have been killed. God saved me that day.

Several times. It's part of my job.
How did I feel? Mainly satisfaction for a job done well.
I find it difficult to accept the thanks easily.
I don't like a fuss being made.

Yep.
Mostly unappreciated, those ungrateful morons...
If you're not going to kow-tow and offer me vast respect (whether I accept or not should be up to me) at least give me 20$, so I don't have to remember why I shouldn't help people.
