Polled means absence of horns. Double polled means both parents were born without horns. This exponentially decreases the chance of these bulls producing offspring with horns. The poll of an animal is the top of his head.

Double polled would refer to a bull who comes from 2 naturally polled parents. He is most likely to produce naturally polled offspring.

As metioned above (in greater detail), the term (naturally) polled refers to cattle who are born without a tendency for horns. Some people would also call a dehorned animal polled, when in fact it is just a dehorned animal, and if reproducing, it is likely to pass on the genes for a horned calf, rather than a polled calf.

It means that both it's parents were born with no horns. It also means that when you breed him the chances of the calves not growing horns are much higher.

In cattle "polled" refers to the absence of horns. Usually the term is used to refer to "naturally polled" animals. "polled" or "naturally polled" is used to refer to animals that never grow horns because of a genetic condition. the word "horned" is used to refer both to animals that have horns and those whose horns have been removed.
