If the pool is 24 feet wide, then that means that two sides (the small sides) of this rectangle are 24.

If the rectangle is half as wide as it is long, it means that the length (longer side) is twice as long as the width (small side) so 2 times 24 is 48.

Now we know that the two other sides (the long sides) of this rectangle are 48.

Finding the perimeter means adding up all the sides of the rectangle. So;
24 + 24 + 48 + 48 = 144

The perimeter of the rectangular pool is 144 feet

The pool is 24 feet wide. It's half as wide as it is long, so it's twice as long as it is wide. The length is 2 * 24, or 48. The perimeter is the distance around the edge. There are two edges that are 24 feet long and two edges that are 48 feet long. So the perimeter is 2*24 + 2*48 = 48 + 96 = 144 feet.

It is 24 feet wide. That is half of the length, so 24 doubled is 48. The pool is 24 feet wide and 48 feet long. Since it has four sides, you add up the four sides' amounts in feet: 24+24+48+48=144 feet. The perimeter is 144 feet....big pool!

Okay, it's half as wide as it is long and it's 24 feet wide.
That means the length of the rectangle is 48 feet.

The perimeter is the sum of the four sides: 48+24+48+24 = 144 feet

24 wide and 48 long. To calculate perimeter you need to add up all the sides, so, 24 + 24 + 48 + 48 = 144

In other words, it's twice as long as it is wide. So it's 48 feet long. There are two 48-foot sides and two 24-foot sides, so the perimeter is 144 feet.

well if you mean that the width is half as long as the length then the length would be 24+24=48.
so the perimeter is all the sides added together so it would be 24+24+48+48
so the answer is 144

does that help?

x = length
y = width = 24 feet
x = (2) * (24)
x = 48
p = perimeter = 2x + 2y
p = (2)(48) + (2)(24)
p = 144 feet

Let x = the width

The perimeter is all the outside, so that's two widths and two lengths. But the length is twice the width. So we have

x + 2x + x + 2x = 6x

6 times 24 = 144 ft perimeter

24' w x 2 = 48 L
EACH SIDE IS 48' OR 96 FEET TOTAL
EACH END IS 24' OR 48 FEET TOTAL
48+96=144'
Right?
