Yes. A catch denotes legal player possesion. A fumble is the result of a force applied after possesion is secured, therefore, the catch is still a catch.

Yes, it does, as well as the yards gained. But then the fumble goes against him as well.

(To those who say otherwise:)

Let's say a guy catches a pass and runs until he has gained 40 yards or so. When tackled, he fumbles. How are those yards accounted for, statistically????

Yes, and the receiver will be given credit for the number of yards he gained before the fumble. If it's picked up and advanced by a teammate, those yards are credited as "return yards" for that teammate.

If it is ruled a catch he will get credit for it and the yards. Once he fumbles, he gets that too.

yea it should count as a catch, because in order to have a fumble you must have possession of the ball first. other wise it is incomplete pass

Yes

EDIT

Jennifer/quatrapiller, the question was if he catches it THEN FUMBLES.

If it's cleanly caught it's NOT an incomplete pass.

He can catch it, run 50 yards then fumble, that's not an incompletion

Nope. To count in his final stats, it needs to be ruled a completed pass/receive. Fumbles are not completed.
