John was besotted with Mary, so much so that she became tired of his constant attention.

Johnny was besotted in not checking the depth of the water before he jumped in, but it was a good thing that his father was wise and checked it first.

Hope this helps.

Verb means something you are doing. Assuming besotted can be a verb then here are some examples and what they mean.

"Juliet besotted Romeo." (Juliet's actions caused Romeo to be besotted with her- think like 'flirted')

"Ali besotted her neighbour." (Your neighbor became besotted with you because of something you did- it is still a verb even though you didn't do anything- think like 'attracted')

"I am going to besot that girl" (The present tense- I am proposing to do something so the girl becomes besotted with me. Not flirting or attracting)

As a verb it can be similar to flirted- except the intended effect is also part of the definition. It can also be similar to attracted- except the meaning is much stronger, causing an obsession.
