I hate the phrase "hook up" I am never sure what it means. Is it sex, fooling around, dating, a relationship, etc? and why do so many teens use the phrase, do they think sex and relationships are just a joke?
So, I don't know how to answer your question, if you are talking about meaningless sex then you probably shouldn't. But if it's just fooling around then go for it. But it is your choice

long term...i'm sorry no. i do not forsee such a committing task. this may be your own unvoiced fears or the would be lovers. however, many chances for meaningless pish-posh will jump at you...if you are looking.
