It may scratch the insides, but I'm not sure. Try Easy Off. You just spray it down, let it soak and then wipe it down.

Well neither of these ways are fullproof and both still have a little bit of scrubbing involved. Like all things with grease and so forth there easier to clean if there HOT..... this way is semi dangerous but not really simply heat up the oven to 250ish you will need oven mits for this and they will get wet... fill the sink about 1/4th with Degreeser and hot tap water mixxed then take out a tray with the glove on and dips metal scoure pad in water and scrub over the water dont dip in the rack till tis cooled a bit but it should clean nicely with the added heat. Second way get plastic container that will hold racks then rill it with half degreeser and about a half cup pf simple green then maybe 2 cups water just so the racks are unter the surface let sit overnight and then use metal scrubber should come off pretty easy

Comet Ovens

I would not use any cleaner that contains Chlorine/Clorox. I'm no chemist but I would think that any residue of those cleaners could produce Dioxin when you heat up the oven. I find that ApplianceGuy's suggestion of baking soda does work (add warm water to baking soda to make a paste and let it soak a few hours then wipe it out with a damp cloth) or buy a cleaner made for ovens. Some cleaning chemicals not designed for ovens could convert to dangerous toxins or even explode if heated.

I wouldn't. I think there's a reason they make specific products for cleaning ovens.

It will not hurt anything but why don't you use baking soda instead. You will get the same if not better results and at less cost.

TRUE, IF IT'S NOT CONTINUOUS CLEAN, & IF YOU DON'T WANT TO, OR DON'T HAVE SELF CLEAN!
