I am WHITE and my dearest friend was BLACK, thank god, she and her family were not like Susan Sontag who ever she is!
If only every one celebrated the difference of race and culture and used and accepted the difference, just how wonderfully our lives be enriched - I know mine was until she passed away a few months ago.

Yes, white people were the first race of people in modern times to live in luxery. But, look at how the natives live! If you want to talk about toxic and lazy: most of them live on reserves all thier lives, use drugs and alchohol daily and live off of Welfare!
I don't know how old that quote is but I know that most white people of today are hardworking and honest. Generally they don't get as many breaks with the government and do their best to be as fair as possible to all the other races.
I feel that other races are somewhat bitter that Caucasians thought of it first. That they won the wars. They had the technology to do what they did. Hitler was a bad man. But, saying that because of what he did white people are going to destroy the earth is like saying that because Micheal Jackson is a pedofile all black people are pedofiles. It's just uneducated and untrue.

Yes, that statement is highly racist and very ignorant, however, it was her right to say it. One must also consider that it may have been taken out of context. Sometimes a writer will make a statement like that to jolt people out of their safety zones and make them think, even if anger is the first emotion they feel when reading it. (I know anger was the first thing I felt when reading it.)
Even if that's how she truly felt, I still think she had a right to say it, no matter how I may disagree with her and her agenda. The right to speak one's mind is one of the most sacred rights a person can have. To take it away from anyone is to deprive that person of a voice.

In away its true, look at all the suffering the white man has put other races through how they believed themselves to be superior to all other races.
