Yes there is a lock safety logo for sites that are considered secure. Also, no I haven't had any problems with IE 7, and it works fine. But many other people have reported problems with using it. I would try it out to see if it works with your computer. If it doesn't work it is very easy to uninstall. Just go to Add/Remove Programs and select uninstall. Has lots of new security features. The only problem after I tested the three beta versions an installed the final IE7 it slowed my pc down to a crawl. Became so fed up that I just rolled back to IE6 as uses far less resources.
