i was in college studying film and animation after quitting a good payed job at Ford. I found what i knew was going to be my life, hobby and career at the same time. Guiders in technical high school told me i had a gift for visual communications and drawing so i made the switch to visual arts. They were right, teachers in college were very content with my work and acknowledged the talent i had . Those were wonderfull years since i found where i fitted in and what i've been thinking about as a kid. Unfortunately, after sophomore year i had to quit college due to circumstances.
Today i'm payed about 15k, going from one job to another and every now and then i draw a storyboard for commercials....so no this not what i wanted my future to be... i was highly regarded in college by my teachers and fellow students. The sky seemed to be the limit back then...

No, I didn't. Right now, I make nothing since I'm a stay at home mom. I was a public school teacher for my last paid job and I was making about 63K when I left. I never, ever thought I'd be a teacher because I hated school as a kid. When I was a kid, I thought I'd be a nurse like my mother and grandmother. During high school and college, I expected to be a journalist, probably TV, and living abroad for a while before I decided to come back to the States and get married and raise a family. That never happened.

I am 17, and I really want to travel to other countries, and help those that don't have the resourses we do. The only job I could figure was nurse or doctor. So I'm thinking nurse practitioner so I can work here for money, and then go on occsional medical missions. I don't really have any special interest in the medical field, just in helping people and traveling.
This doesn't exactly answer your question, just though I'd add what I do want to be since thats really all I can.

My job is a clerical worker and I don't know how much I make per year because it varies from job to job & I thought my life would be different because I wanted to earn my bachelor's degree, but I had parents who didn't believe in my dreams and supporting me. Now that I am older, life is different. The only way you achieve your dreams when you're young is have family that believe that you're going to be a sucess and not think of you a a dumb ***. That was what my parents thought of me.

I work as an engineer. It's definitely not what I thought I'd be doing, but I enjoy it! I make enough money to keep me happy..
I always thought I'd be a doctor when I was younger. I was so gung-ho about it, but I changed my mind in college. There are so many other career paths that are more or just as fulfilling. But it depends on you.
