a quick answer I try to find an answer i gave to someone else about setting wep/wpa... but when was the last time you gave your router a reset??
if you have router that is continuosly on and connected, the systems that look after your connection do not get the chance to test/retest your connection.. so after a while you may be getting intermittent connections... (happens to me) I have a dynamic IP address from my provider and every now and then i have to simply restart my router to resfresh my ip address and i have a continous connection again.(apparently something to do with changes in the connection speed)... try that first.. you can sometimes choose an option inside the configuration page to restart router...or you may just be able to turn the power off untill all the lights go out.. wait 5 secs and then connect.. wait for the service to settle and connect as usual....
if it is not this.. with my wireless i have a little software user interface that came with it that shows a diagram of whats happening on my network... eg. it will show me where my connection is breaking, either on my network or the connection to the isp... if you have this it may help..
if you dont..it a little harder...during a problem go to a command prompt
in this box type ping .. is it successful
no... then its problem between the computer and router
if yes then ping http://www.yahoo.com or any address external to your network.. is it successful. if no then a problem with the connection between route and isp.
check connections, any new obstructions/equipment near the transmitter... wireless phones..etc
you could use your software to see if there are any other network in the area using the same channel as you.. if there is then change the channel you transmit with in your router configuration.
well i think ihave confused you enough for now..
good luck

Why did you click "repair the connection"? Chances are (and correct me if I'm wrong) you started having connection troubles and tried to repair it. It's likely that the initial troubles are continuing, and it's got nothing to do with what you clicked.
Here's my bet: someone in your area just bought a linksys router and is running it with the same default settings you are, and on the same channel. They interfere with each other, and you get kicked off. They're probably having the same problem.
Use the instructions for your router to change the channel you're on, set the SSID to something other than the default, and make sure you're running some kind of encryption (WPA beats the heck out of WEP.)

Try this, if you are running a windows operating system an have a restore point set, go to your start menu, click on Help and Support, glick on system restore and there you will see a caleder. Sum dates should be dark an sum light. Click on a date before you had the problem and it will restore your pc to an earlier time. Follow instructions and your pc will have ta do a restart. Good luck. factors causing intermittent connection (regardless of what router your using) are the ff:
1. EMI (chordless phones, hallogen lamps, baby monitors, microwave etc.) - never place these equipment near the modem, router and computer.
2. make sure the modem & router are least 4 meters away from your computer (not too near)
3. disable the box on the authentication tab that says "enable IEEE".
4. make sure ip address is not forced on your computer if your using a dynamic ip address
try eliminating these things. if your still having intermittent connection, then you need to have your wireless adapter checked. Ã

i've had this problem before with my Linksys wireless router...i went into the router settings. thorugh the internet adress, i think its 192.168.1.1 or something, and theres a setting in there where you can select either connect on demand or keep live connection, select keep live connection. try that.
