If she wanted to help poor children in africa why didnt she just give £20million or so im sure she can afford it. And why is a nanny looking after ONE child, hardly her taking on a burden to help is it?

Ok catherine seeing is believing right, and what I saw on television was a confused young baby being hounded by around 100 pap photographers in the arms of a nanny, great start to its new life!! If you adopted fair play to you, all im saying is she has alot more at her disposal, much more than paying a baby sitter!!

juicie813 what are you on about if, but etc. The fact of the matter is madonna is not an everyday person and she tried to pull a publicity stunt and for the only time i can remember has mis-calculated. She is not kind as she is trying to portray, only to her own ego and there alot of pre-madonnas just like her, i'll start on them later

Why is it that everyone is making a big deal of this. If Madonna was an average everyday person, no one would expect her to donate millions to help the poor children in Africa and they would be commending her for adopting a child from a third world country. She is caught in a catch 22 because if she had donated money and still adopted a child then people would say that she paid for the child. Wouldn't that be unethical. She set out to help and now she is being made into a villian. Why isn't anyone knocking actors who adopt children from here in America. There are children starving here as well but no one is expecting them to donate money to hungry people here in America. And what about the celebrities that are paying surrogates to carry babies for them instead of adopting. Celebrities are no different from anyone else, they are free to spend their money the way they see fit. Besides Madonna and her adoption drama is old news.

I'm not a huge fan of Madonna, but i am sick and tired of the media having a go at her over this adoption. she has done a lot in the past to raise funds and awareness for charities, at least this will be one child who has a decent shot at life, who won't have to worry about where his next meal is coming from or getting treatment for medical problems. that poor little boy was extremely ill when she found out about him, with a good chance that he would die. can anyone say that they would rather that she hadn't taken the time and effort to help him ? as for giving £20 million to charity, well, that is just a financial drop in the ocean - the problem is far bigger than that. the press should be concentrating on the good she is trying to do, and try to highlight the plight of the other suffering children, so that it keeps this problem in the mind of the general public, rather than filling everyone's heads with Madonna and her private life.

I think it was unfair for Madonna to adopt that poor Malwian child because he has a dad and madonna hadn't lived in Malwia for 18 months was it?

fair enough, but what if i wanted to adopt a child from some poor village, should i rather give the money to the village?? or should i give one child a chance for a better life??
and where is all the money from those 'benefit' concerts?? why is there still no improvement from all that??
i think she did something good for another human being,,,, we don't know that she has not made a huge donation to the village, the media will not allow for that/..... don't believe everything you read!!!!!
