Why can't you go back to court instead of taking a coward's way out? If there's a legitimate financial circumstance why you can't or shouldn't pay - do that.
There are a lot of kids who hate their dads for not paying support. If the court says you don't have to pay anymore, there's no reason for them to be upset or for you to look like a jerk.

Your kids could end up hating you knowing that you don't want to help them financially anymore. Especially if they are going to college and getting an education is important to them. Don't listen to the guy who said to "hide" from the law. That makes you a bigger loser than not paying child support. He must be one of those losers.

Depends on if you're under a court order to pay, or not.
If you're under a court order, then you could very well go to jail (contempt of court).
