why do people do such stupid things? can you give me some reasons why?

Some folks get to feeling really sorry for themselves and think that the world has ended because they had a disagreement with their partners. Fact of life is thought that we are going to have arguments with mates, friends etc. throughout our lives. A lot of people believe that this form of self abuse will prove their love and devotion to the other and that they will accept them back after this. Majority of time if partner does return to relationship it is because of guilt of some other foolish believe that only they can act as Savior to this person. Live is not meant to go as we want all the time and the sooner people realize this the less of this type of behaviour will be occurring.

I highly doubt the girlfriend was the reason someone lit themself on fire. Anyone who would do such a thing has deeper mental issues.
I'm sure there was a lot going on in this person's life. We are not equipped with all the best answers for dealing with the trials of life. Sometimes, our decisions get clouded.

Sometimes the pain inside someone is so great and it can't be understood by others. We never know how they're feeling unless we walk in their shoes, and that's impossible, so I don't think he should be judged, even though it is painful to family and friends. Depression and life events get so overwhelming sometimes that some people simply can't see any other option. I wish his friends and family hope to know that he is happier now. I don't believe people who kill themselves go to hell, because most of them do not do it to hurt others, they are simply so wounded themselves.
