i have a original xbox, and it used to have a harddrive on it with every single game for snes, nes, sega, and atari, and it also used to play dvds, now it wont do any of this. i tried unplugging everything, restarting..i got nothing. Help!!??

It gives me an error message that says someting like you need a dvd kit to play dvds...but i never needed one before, and also all of my harddrive seems to be gone.

Get a cd cleaner that you can put into the slot and it'll clean it by itself! Try blowing in there too...may help

That's because you do need a DVD kit to play DVDs on the original Xbox. You might have had a modded Hard-drive or something. Stop being cheap and buy the kit, it costs like 30 dollars tops. You can probably find it cheaper, I bought mine 2 years ago for 30 dollars.

well if the dvd's or any thing are burned off of another one it wont work. or they might be dirty. or you x-box might eitehr be too old or broken
