Giannitsa is a small city in the region of Macedonia in Greece, just half an hour from Thessaloniki. Its a historical city and just a couple of minutes from the ancient site of Pella, birthplace of Alexander the Great. There is a fine arcaelogical site there with many greek ruins icluding the tomb of king Philip, Alexanders father, and also an excellent museum with many treasures and findings from the hellenic kingodm of Macedonia.

Yes, Giannitsa is about 1 hour driving from Thessaloniki. It's a small country town with no local colour, narrow streets and it's very cold in winter. What exactly do you want to know about Giannitsa?
