We already are multicultural. There is no becoming to it. We already are.

But despite the fact that Americans like to think of themselves as progressive and forward thinking they are typically resistant to change.

I think we should be more multi-tolerant.

Jeez, give me some time to rest before I drag more people here!!! I've just spent half my life in major parts of Europe and Africa, jumping all over the place, and meeting people who would love to go to the U.S.!!! I need to stop for a little bit and chill before I go somewhere different... what do you think? I was planning on China, Cambodia, South Korea and Japan next, or maybe I'll go and see the rest of Russia... or maybe Australia, New Zealand or French Polynesia... or Indonesia... or India and Pakistan... I still have a while to go before I die.
As for my home country, the good old United States... lets just say I've rounded up a great deal of friends from different countries and made this place just a little bit more cultural. Not that it already wasn't.

Ok, incase you forgot America is the Great Melting Pot. Go anywhere and you will find people from all sorts of different back grounds and places.

As far culture goes, there are certian cultral elements that need to be common to all people, like language for a soctiey to function. So, it's ok that we speak English and learn American history and sign the National Anthem at ball games.

America is a true melting pot. We have more cultures in this country than anywhere else in the world. But, what makes this country great, is the fact that we are all AMERICANS, in spite of our various heritages, we all adhere to the dream of the writers of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independance.

I see a benefit in getting to know other cultures. Americans live next to various cultures but they do not know them and they do not want to get ot know them. In Europe people speak several languages and it does not hurt anybody.

We ARE. It's a real melting pot. As for language, English has worked just fine for us for over 200 years; I see no reason to change that.
