Look at the mess we are in at this time! Gas prices skyrocketed since Bush took over! Even though we invaded Iraq for the PURPOSE of oil and yet the price of oil still went up!!!!! Then you have all the mess going on in Iraq that now it's obvious we're losing the war and everyday at least one of US soldiers die along with innocent civilians in Iraq. So did Saddam did such a poor job running his own country???

Look at all the red states that supported him???!!! How could anyone buy into that only Bush/Republicanians can protect us from Terrorism and not Democrats??? time to quit gloating over the mistake basically good people made while in a state of extreme stress and high anxiety. Bush/Cheney et al did an excellent job of exploiting the valid fears of the American People to their self aggrandizing advantage. it's wrong to continue to blame the American People for being so fearful since making and keeping them fearful was the campaign tactic. give the majority of Americans some credit for having finally shaken off the Rovian thrall and coming to their senses.

Bush inherited a mess. The economy was in a downward spiral. Terrorists had attacked repeatedly with out receiving more than a slap on the wrist or a $1,000,000 missle up a camel's butt.
The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with oil, only extreme lefties buy that. We have been at war at leasr sonce 1993 (1st WTC attack) & arguably since 1979 (Iran embassy takeover). It is only during the Bush admin that we are fighting back.

1) Gas prices do tend to go up during times of war, but to be honest, the United States has always benefitted in the past from some of the lowest gas prices in the world.

2) Invading for oil? Not hardly! But the argument could be made that we invaded not to gain the oil for ourselves but to keep terrorist dictators from using it as a source of revenue to support terrorism.

3) There are certainly downsides to the war in Iraq, but did you know that more hospitals and schools are operational then before the liberation? Did you know more children are attending schools? Did you know soldiers are using their downtime to construct soccer fields for children and supplying them with supplies? Are you aware that there are many good works going on the media is not reporting?

So the war was all about the oil - why DID prices soar? Don't over simplify things. It was really was all about the oil. Alaskans would be doing the happy dance because ANWR would be opened. It could also be very easily argued that one of the reasons prices have soared is due to the environmental movement blocking development.

As to us losing the war, don't believe everything you read. I have two cousins who served in Iraq, and a close friend in Baghdad right now. They all tell me that our media coverage is total BS and that we are not getting an accurate picture of what's going on. Are things bad? Certainly. War is ugly business, especially when you're fighting people who have absolutely no principles and will hide in mosques or behind women and children. If things are really going so poorly over there, why are re-enlistments UP? Or are you one of those self-righteous smarmy jerks who thinks the military is a bunch of stupid people?

Think Saddam did a great job? You're a total fool who is entirely too spoiled by his privileged Western upbringing. There have been many events during this presidents term as in many before him and will be after him - no president is perfect and no one president makes all the decisions - the politicians we vote in under him are the casting vote in many issues ..... just when the heat gets turned up - they seem less in front of the camera and leave for the top man to take the blows.
