I am in 11th grade, but I will be 18 next week ( I should be in 12th grade but I had to repeat 1st grade ten years ago ). Anyway, either way I am in in high school.

I am usually a straight A student or I get close to straight A's. But this year my grades are not as good. I am getting B's and C's and few A's.
I have had a really bad start. My teachers hate me because I have been missing A LOT of school. But that was because I was sick more this year and I am going to be out now because of my grandmother's death. I am completely upset about my grandma because we were very close and already my school does not understand. Tomorrow, I have to see my grandma dead. My mother asked for my school work but they would not give it to her ( but that is because I have not missed 3 days yet in a row so they might tomorrow. )

Anyway, I just want to start all over. At my current school I am shy and I have hardly any friends. I want to have more friends, miss no school, & get better grades.

DON'T QUIT! Don't listen to her! If you quit the teachers will get what they want. You have to or have your mom take that to the school board or someone higher. They can't treat you this way. If you have a doctor's note or proof that you are attending a family's death they have to excuse you. What is the name of your high school so that I know not to have my son go there. Good luck!

Why the he!! did I get a thumbs down? I love how ppl type the same thing I said and they get credit for it but some how I get a thumbs down. Shove your thumbs up your a$$es!

Will your school district allow you to transfer? Find out what the rules are for that, which you can probably find on the district's website.

Meanwhile, look for ways to make friends, either in school or away from school. Is there a club you'd like to join? Just pick one that interests you, and start there. Also, do what you can to stay well. It's next to impossible to prevent ever getting sick. But if you get enough sleep at night and eat right, that will help.

Whatever you do, don't drop out! You'll be sorry you did!

Sorry to hear about your grandmother, how sad!

if u have documentation that proves u missed class because of an illness and proof of your grandmothers death your school has no choice but to let u make up your classes. stick it out.

seems like right now u r going through a really rough time that things just aren't easy anymore. its part of growing up u r going to go through times like these alot. times that seem like things r just getting harder and harder. don't worry this will pass,(your problems with school)you will get through this. today is tuesday so for the next three days grieve for your grandma and by saturday things will cool down a little and u can try to catch up with all your work. and after school talk to your teachers and let them know what is going on in your life.
u r a legal adult time to start handling things like an adult. in the future when things get tough u can't just quit and move on.

i am so sorry for your loss

ok well its not the schools fault that you missed or have bad grades. thats all on you. and if u want to get more friends im sure u can make a difference there. going to a new school will only intimidate you more. you will make less friends cuz its a completely different environment. YOU need to change. not the school

Recommend when you start feeling that way it is time to quit.
Take a GED and get out and go to college or some other technical school for training in what you want as a career.
There comes a time in High school when it just isn't working for you anymore. With those grades you shouldn't have any trouble Passing a GED. When you get in a vocational school with adults you will do much better. Colleges and other schools now recognize a GED as the same as a diploma. Sounds like you are wasteing your time in there now.
