I was told since my Truck doesnt start lately, I should take a hammer and hit the starter a few time to get it started.
I have a few VERY important appointment tomorrow including getting a new STARTER out in and i can not figure out where the starter is located.

Go under the truck and look at the transmission. The part of the transmission that bolts to the engine and looks like a big horn will have the starter attached to it on the left or right side. Can't remember which side on your truck. Have someone hold the key in the crank position and tap on the starter. If that doesn't work tap on the solenoid attached to the top of the starter.
Don't beat the crap out of it, and don't hit any of the terminals on the solenoid with the hammer. They will break, and can spark if you ground the hot wire to the engine with the hammer.

There is an individual coil for each cylinder and the spark plugs are located about 5 inches down inside the cylinder heads under each coil. And let's not forget that you need a 7mm 1/4" drive universal socket that costs 50 bucks to get to the 7 and 8 coils, and triple jointed fingers. It is not an easy job to change plugs on these engines, we usually charge 3 hours labor to change them, it is not a job that the usual vehicle owner can do. I would also suggest you let the dealer change them, they have done many and will save you a lot of pain and time. I always end up bleeding from somewhere after changing plugs on this engine.

First of all your vehicle doesn't have a distributor nor spark plugs wires. So if you are looking for that you won't find them. Each spark plug has it own individual coil. they are located on top of the engine on the intake manifold right beside each fuel injector. a ratchet with an extension, a swivel and appropriate spark plug socket should do the trick. My suggestion would be to purchase a manual for you vehicle to assist in your maintenence.

i agree with whtsthis, you never want to bang on a starter or solenoid, just bump it a few times.first also i would check the battery to make sure it has a good strong charge in it, the cold will drain a battery and if may not be strong enought to crank the motor over. Most parts houses will check the battery and the alt for free.
