Yes, but mostly no, and yes.
For the most parts the Egyptian Gods were imaginary ones who were depicted in paintings, hieroglyphics and statues. However, the Pharaoh was considered a god and he was clearly visible. The Egyptian Gods mostly operated in the next life where they did have physical bodies.
Set was the god of evil and he fought against Ra (the sun god) and his son Horus. In fact his brother Set once killed Horus, but being a god he got better.
According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horus
"Horus is an ancient god of the Ancient Egyptian religion, whose cult survived so long that he evolved dramatically over time and gained many names. The most well known name is the Greek Horus, representing the Egyptian Heru/Har, which is the basic element in most of the other names of Horus. Horus was so important that the Eye of Horus became an important Egyptian symbol of power. He had a man's body and a falcon's head. He only had one eye because after Osiris was murdered by his brother Set, Horus fought with Set for the throne of Egypt. In this battle Horus lost one of his eyes and later this became a sign of protection in Egypt. In one story he has said to have cut off his mothers' head."

The Egyptian Gods were not visible beings. They were a way to explain what was not undsestood. For example, Ra is the Sun God. He was associated with the solor disk that brought life, warmth, and a feeling of security to the people. As a result, when the sun would set people thought that he sailed across the Duat ( underworld) in his boat fighting the beings that wished harm upon them. Then every morning when the sun would rise again, people knew that there lives were safe from the evil monsters. The ancients had hundreds of gods. There was a god for everything and everything. A good book to read is "Ancient Egyptian Myths and Legends" by Lewis Spence. It explains where many of the myths and gods re believed to come from.

The ancient Egyptians made statues of their gods that they believed to be portals for their prayers to go to the various gods. By having the statues in their houses it was also thought that the gods could visit the devout. Many offerings were presented to the gods at the foot of their statues.
There were gods that fought in a mythological sense of the world but there was no "physical fighting" or fist fights between the gods. They did not have physical bodies in the visual scope of their human subjects.

Many eons ago, the egyptian Gods did exist in the physical plane of life. They did have battles and war among each other. They now exist in another plane of dimension. Our naked human eyes, are not able to see them. Our human eyes can only see very limited range of vibrational matter. Those egyptian gods vibrate at a very high frequency that is above what we can normally perceive.

They were visible only to the Royal family. The Pharoah was regarded as being one of them, and related to all of them, as were other memberes of his family. That is why the royal siblings married each other, because they were the only ones who were offspring of the gods, and therefore couldn't marry commoners.
As far as anyone else being able to see them, they didn't look like ordinary people. They had human bodies, but animal heads. You can see them in statuary from that period.
They did connive with each other to get the upper hand.
