My sister-in-law loves Nicholas Sparks and Mitch Albom books. I thought about getting her either a few Sparks books or a Mitch Albom book (The Five People You'll Meet In Heaven) and the movie that co-insides with it.

Are books still an ok thing to give? because i thought about doing that with a few of my family members. Give them a book of their favorite author and such.

I think books are a great idea but be sure to check and make sure they haven't read them first. I don't personally like the idea of the same book and movie together. If you read the book, you will know what happens in the movie and vice versa. Give one or the other.

As long as the person actually likes books, and in particular the one you're giving them and you think they'll actually read it -books are fine gifts. The point is to give someone something they'll like and use. It may not fit for every person you want to buy for and it may look like you didnt give any more thought to theirs because everyone got a book. Get your sister in law the books and try to think of something the other people will like a lot - even if its not books. Theres nothing worse than giving people gifts they dont really like its a waste of money.

thats a great idea. I usually ask for books for Christmas and there is nothing better to do over the holiday season then to curl up with a cup of hot chocolate, a blanket and a good book.

It's a great gift but you need to find out if these people already read the books first.

You can never go wrong with books. They never go out of style. I would rather receive a book over a gift card anyday.

I think it's a good idea . . or you might consider giving them a gift card to the book store instead (just in case they've already read the book you choose) . . .

I think books are a great idea. Make it personal by writting a note on the inside so everytime they read it they will think of you.

Books are great gifts for people who like them (like me). I don't know why they wouldn't be ok to give.
