That in these movies and guys who act like cowboys talk in these phony southern accidents? Even when the guys are from our state of Oregon they talk like this, way to funny! Oh and I notice the guys doing this when they are around a single girl they are trying to impress.....usually the younger crowed.
We have several top rodeo cowboys who live around here and they don't talk like this....Niether do the real cowboys...
Love a man with a real southern accent, but this phony stuff is way funny sounding!
What do you think? Like the phony accents?

I am from Oregon and I live next to Ross Coleman (professional Bull rider) He was born and raised in Oregon yet he has the fake accent you are talking about. I think it sounds very funny but only because I know it's not real. Funnier still is that his younger brother started to develope the same accent as he got more into rodeo. When we were in elementary and middle school together he didn't sound like he was from the south. I don't think there are very many "real" cowboys out there anymore. The sport is getting very commercialized and glamorous and they are trying to create a false image.

No, I don't like phony accents, but the actor that was portraying Lane needed to use the accent that Lane had to make it seem more authentic. That is just the way the movies are.
Yeah, I love a REAL accent.
