Your best bet is to start at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Sioux_Nation
The Great Sioux Nation is a general term sometimes applied to the Sioux generally or the Lakota specifically. It is also sometimes applied to a hypothetical state in the western and midwestern United States.

There is a listing of Recognized reservations and very detailed history. They also cite references you could use to find more information. Hope this helps!

Nah, they're extra often than not from the northern Plains states and the western fringe of the midwest (Minnesota, Iowa, and so on.). no longer a great form of them in Kentucky, rather. a great form of the Sioux-appropriate landmarks are in the Dakotas (as an occasion, Sioux city, South Dakota). of direction, there's a great gamble that your grandmother could have been born in the north and ended up in Kentucky by some ability.
