My hairdresser moved out of state and I'm in desperate need of a new one. I've tried asking people I know, but that isn't helping much. Have you ever gone into a salon, cold, and had it work out? How did you decide it was the place for you (before you ever saw a stylist)?

Try to go to someone for just a trim, nothing drastic, to see if you like them and what kind of job they do. I've gone to a place that someone referred me to, but not a specific stylist and have been going back to the same lady for 4 years now.

What you should do is browse online for a listing of the top salons in your area. Only let licensed stylist with great reputations do your hair!

See if they have any references and always go to top salons in your city. Never go to a mom and pop one. Also when you see someone with really great hair ask them where they get theres done. Word of mouth can be your best chance.
