No your not a loser. I ice skate and all the people in my group have been skating since they were probably 5. I started 2 years ago and I'm jelous of those who skated more then me, they know those little things like, head up, make it look pretty. So don't be down. others might feel the same

No of course you are not a loser! Different people learn at different paces. You may be at the same level as others who have only skated for a few years but you may be better than others in some areas of your skating. So don't feel bad, continue to work hard and get better than them.

You are not a loser. It takes people different amounts of time to learn various skills in sports. Some pick things up faster than others. And another thing, you might not devote all of your time to skating over the course of the 8 years. The others who have skated less time might have spents continuous days or hours practicing. Sont be discouraged jsut because your skill level may not be as good as someone else. If you want to get better, keep practicing, dont worry about other people's ages.

no, you are not a loser because i have been skating for almost 8 years and there are people who are better than me who have only been skating for 3-5 years. i only just landed my Axel (a jump) and there are the people doing double jumps who have only been skating for 4 years. the most probable reason why they are better because they practice skating like crazy while i only skate once or twice a week (that's all i have time for) it doesn't matter what the other people are doing, it's all about you and what you think.

Hey, it doesn't matter how fast you progress. Ice skating is amazingly hard, and someone who's been doing it for 3 years is talented, but if you've been at it for 8 years, you must love it and you must be pretty darn good! Stop getting down on yourself. I envy you, since you oviously have stick-it-to-it-ness! Good luck with your skating.
