The world is a better place for the toppling of the sadddam regime.Their are problems but one cant make an omlette without breaking eggs.
However, the reasons the usa went to war was for the pursuit of freedom and democracy in the middle east.If it keeps the chinese sphere of influence out of middle eastern oil fields and a western ffriendly govt selling oil to the west (the revenues of which will be spent on the free ppl of iraq) , then thats a good thing too.
Unfortunately , the loony lefties and the bbc watchers will spout the usual cliches "blood for oil" etc..(the hypocrisy)
All this said ,tony blair is undoubtedly the worst primeminister britain has ever known.
Tony blair went to war for very different reasons to the americans. He couldnt have pointed to iraq on a map before he climbed on the american war machine. He went to war purely to enhance his standing as a world statesman because he knew no one took him seriously.Pandering to a few focus groups and selling england to islam for a few votes meant that his downing street portrait would never be glanced at at the side of mrs thatcher.
However we are there, and troops are trained and paid to fight and defend democracy and historically british soldiers dont shy from a fight. So dont ask them to.the pride of our nation is at stake.they dont want to look like cowardly french in the eyes of the world.
so enough with the "bring our troops home" your embarrassing our country and our army by your trendy liberal whinings.
If you want a cliche. how about
freedom isnt free!

Tony Blair should resign and get a job serving burgers to fat chavs in McDonalds.

After the mess he's made of this country I wouldn't trust him to do anything else.
